Warm, fudgy cookies topped with glossy chocolate frosting, transforming classic Texas sheet cake flavors into an easy, bakeable treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (13.25 ounces)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil in a large mixing bowl until a thick, sticky dough forms.
  3. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are set; cool slightly.
  5. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in cocoa powder and milk until smooth.
  6. Gradually whisk in powdered sugar until frosting is smooth and glossy.
  7. Spoon the warm frosting onto each cookie while both are still warm, then cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container.

Notes

Use a medium cookie scoop for consistent sizing. Frosting can be warmed if it thickens while applying.
