A quick and comforting garlic butter chicken pasta dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights, featuring juicy chicken, al dente pasta, and a rich garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz pasta, any shape
  • 1 lb chicken breast, trimmed and pat dry
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 1/2 cup pasta water, reserved
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While the pasta cooks, pat the chicken dry and season both sides with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add and sear the seasoned chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4-6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, melt remaining butter, and sauté garlic and chili flakes until fragrant for about 30 seconds.
  6. Add reserved pasta water and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add drained pasta and chicken back into the skillet, tossing to coat.
  8. Stir in Parmesan and parsley until melted and well combined.

Notes

For even cooking, pound thicker parts of the chicken to an even thickness or slice the breast into cutlets before seasoning.
