Savory Cabbage Beef Bake

A hearty and comforting dish that combines tender cabbage with richly seasoned ground beef, ideal for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 grams paprika
  • 5 grams garlic powder
  • 15 millilitres Worcestershire sauce
  • 200 grams cooked rice
  • 410 grams canned diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 450 grams ground beef

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) to ensure it’s ready for baking.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Once it starts to cook, toss in the finely chopped onion and sauté until the onion becomes transparent.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, canned diced tomatoes (with juice), cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and garlic powder to the skillet. Stir everything well to combine.
  4. Allow the mixture to cook on low heat for about five minutes. This step helps the flavors meld together beautifully.
  5. Spoon the mixture into a suitable baking dish and tightly cover it with aluminum foil.
  6. Slide the dish into your preheated oven. Let it bake for approximately 30 to 35 minutes, or until the cabbage softens nicely.
  7. After baking, remove the dish from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving. This resting time helps the flavors settle.
