Savory Cabbage Beef Bake

A comforting bake of ground beef, tender cabbage, and juicy diced tomatoes, flavored with Worcestershire sauce and paprika, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 grams paprika
  • 5 grams garlic powder
  • 15 millilitres Worcestershire sauce
  • 200 grams cooked rice
  • 410 grams canned diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 450 grams ground beef

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C to ensure it’s nicely heated for baking.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a big skillet over medium heat. Once browned, add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes clear.
  3. Mix in your ingredients: Toss in the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes with juice, cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and garlic powder. Stir everything together thoroughly.
  4. Let it simmer: Cook the mixture on low heat for about five minutes. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish: Spoon your mixture into a baking dish and cover it tightly with foil to keep it moist during baking.
  6. Bake in the oven: Slide the dish into the preheated oven and let it bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the cabbage becomes tender and everything is heated through.
  7. Cool before serving: Once done, pull it from the oven, let it chill for a few minutes before digging in to enjoy the delightful flavors.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs like thyme or oregano; this dish freezes well for up to 2 months.
