Pecan Praline Candy

Warm, buttery, and nostalgic, this Pecan Praline Candy features glossy, caramel-colored mounds with crunchy pecans and a tender, chewy center.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups roughly chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, evaporated milk, unsalted butter, and salt. Heat over low heat, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and pecans.
  4. Return to gentle heat and stir vigorously for 3 to 4 minutes until it thickens to softball stage.
  5. Quickly drop tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  6. Allow the candies to set for at least an hour or overnight before serving.

Notes

For firmer pralines, let them sit longer at room temperature. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
