NYC Thin and Gooey Cookies

Delightful cookies with a crispy exterior and a gooey chocolate chip center, reminiscent of classic New York bakery treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then incorporate the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
