Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl and gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop rounded portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
