Hot Fudge Sauce

A rich and creamy hot fudge sauce perfect for topping ice cream and desserts.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped semi-sweet chocolate, granulated sugar, heavy cream, light corn syrup, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt in a medium saucepan set over medium heat.
  2. Whisk together until smooth and the chocolate is melted.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, whisking occasionally to prevent scorching.
  4. Allow it to boil for 3 minutes while continuing to whisk until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat when the desired thickness is achieved.
  6. Stir in the softened butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
  7. Use immediately or let cool before storing in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

Chop chocolate uniformly for faster melting. Reheat gently in a saucepan or microwave before use.
