Garlic Butter Chicken Broccoli

A fast, satisfying skillet meal balancing rich butter with bright garlic and a touch of lemon. Perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for 5 to 6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add 1/4 cup water and the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 2 to 3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Discard excess water.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low, add butter, and let it melt. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until aromatic.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until combined and the sauce is glossy.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, toss to coat with sauce, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Gently fold in steamed broccoli until evenly mixed.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley (if using), and serve warm with rice, pasta, or cauliflower rice.
