Cinnamon Sugar Pecans

Warm, sweet, and irresistibly crunchy, these Cinnamon Sugar Pecans are a classic snack that fills the kitchen with the smell of cinnamon and toasted nuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups pecan halves, unsalted
  • 2 egg whites, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (149°C). Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats and lightly grease with nonstick spray.
  2. Beat the egg whites and water on medium-high speed until foamy and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt to the egg whites, and gently fold until combined.
  4. Stir the pecans to coat them completely.
  5. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes for even cooking.
  7. Allow the pecans to cool completely on the sheets.
  8. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.

Notes

Use a light hand when folding the sugar into the egg whites to keep the mixture airy. For a deeper nutty flavor, toast the pecans at 325°F for 8 to 10 minutes before coating.
