Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

Delightful cinnamon sugar cookies that are perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ cup additional sugar (for rolling cookies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Crack the egg in and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just incorporated.
  6. Roll the dough into balls, coat in additional sugar, and place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

Store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
