Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic chocolate chip cookies that are crispy on the edges, soft in the center, and packed with gooey chocolate chips.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully mixed before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this dry ingredient mixture into the butter and sugar mixture until just blended.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but still soft to the touch.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For more uniform shapes, use a cookie scoop. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
