Chocolate Chip Cookie Truffles

These Chocolate Chip Cookie Truffles turn the nostalgia of cookie dough into elegant, bite-sized sweets, perfect for gifting or party platters.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (any kind)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 1 and 1/4 cups heat-treated all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Optional for garnish: flaky sea salt and/or chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the milk and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  3. Add heat-treated flour and salt; mix until fully combined.
  4. Gradually fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Roll the dough into balls (about 1 tablespoon each), place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Melt the chocolate with the oil in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled dough ball in the melted chocolate, then tap off excess chocolate.
  8. Place on lined plates or baking sheets and sprinkle with optional toppings if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to set the chocolate.
  10. Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days.

Notes

Ensure to use room temperature butter for easier creaming and smoother dough. Chill the dough balls thoroughly so the chocolate coating sets cleanly.
