Cheesy Pizza Ravioli Bake

A comforting dish combining the flavors of pizza and pasta, featuring cheese ravioli in marinara sauce, Italian sausage, and crispy bacon, topped with gooey mozzarella.

  • 450 grams Italian sausage
  • 700 milliliters marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 200 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 65 grams chopped bacon
  • Pepperoni slices, as desired
  • 710 grams frozen cheese ravioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Begin by dicing the half yellow onion and chopping the bacon if it is not pre-chopped.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  4. Next, add the Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook it while breaking it up with a spoon, ensuring it browns evenly throughout. If there is excess grease, drain it.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well.
  6. Pour in the marinara sauce, then add the chopped bacon and the desired amount of pepperoni slices. Combine everything thoroughly.
  7. Gently stir the frozen cheese ravioli into the skillet mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated with the sauce.
  8. Transfer the entire mixture into a large baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  10. After baking, remove the foil and place the dish under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, until the topping is golden and crisp.
  11. Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For quicker preparation, use pre-chopped onions and ready-to-use sausage. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This dish can be frozen before baking for up to 2 months.
