Cheesy Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties

Warm, creamy, and utterly comforting, this Cheesy Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties recipe combines tender chicken, silky garlic butter cream, and gooey mozzarella with al dente bowtie pasta, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups freshly grated mozzarella
  • ½ cup Parmesan (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. In a skillet, heat the 2 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the cubed chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat to medium and add the 3 tbsp butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 to 45 seconds.
  4. Add the 1 cup heavy cream, stir to combine, and let simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss in the sauce to warm through, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Stir in the 1 ½ cups mozzarella and the ½ cup Parmesan until melted into a creamy sauce.
  7. Add the cooked bowtie pasta and toss to combine evenly, using reserved pasta water as needed.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve hot.

Notes

Cut chicken into uniform cubes for even cooking. Use freshly grated mozzarella for best results.
