Browned Butter Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat; allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Cream the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  8. Portion tablespoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before scooping for thicker cookies.
