Biscuits Gravy Hashbrown Bake

A comforting casserole combining savory sausage, crispy hash browns, and buttermilk biscuits enveloped in creamy cheddar cheese and gravy.

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 180 grams shredded cheddar cheese
  • 480 millilitres whole milk
  • 1 packet (78 grams) McCormick Sausage Flavour Gravy Mix
  • 360 grams frozen shredded hash browns
  • 450 grams premium pork sausage
  • 1 can (454 grams) buttermilk biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and lightly grease a 33×23 cm baking pan for even baking.
  2. Cook the pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles until fully browned, then drain excess fat.
  3. Spread the frozen hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish, then top with the cooked sausage.
  4. Whisk together the sausage gravy mix and whole milk in a mixing bowl until smooth, then pour evenly over the sausage and hash browns.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese across the casserole to form a uniform layer.
  6. Cut each buttermilk biscuit into four pieces and distribute evenly over the top of the casserole.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the biscuit tops are golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sliced green onions or cooked bacon before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
