Banana Split Dump Cake

A delightful dessert that captures the essence of a classic banana split in a simple dump cake form.

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream (for serving, optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the sliced bananas evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spoon the drained crushed pineapple over the layer of bananas.
  4. Spread the cherry pie filling on top of the crushed pineapple.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit layers.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts and semisweet chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and garnished with maraschino cherries if desired.

Notes

For thicker cake, bake for an additional 5 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
