Baked Apple Crumble

A heartwarming dessert featuring sweet and tart baked apples topped with a buttery, crispy crumble, perfect for any occasion.

  • 6 medium-sized firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples, tossing them with lemon juice and half of the sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, remaining sugar, and cinnamon; add the butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Layer the apple mixture in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish and sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  6. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
