  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Drop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, keeping them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and centers appear set but still soft.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
