Trisha Yearwood’s Butterscotch Bars

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Allow mixture to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Fold in butterscotch chips.
  8. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven when edges are lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes
