Tater Tot Hamburger Green Bean Casserole

A cozy family favorite combining savory ground beef, green beans, creamy mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, and a crispy Tater Tot topping.

  • 1 lb ground beef, crumbled and cooked
  • 1 can (15 oz) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen Tater Tots
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and position a rack in the center.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no pink remains, then drain excess fat.
  3. Combine the beef, green beans, mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl; stir until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the filling and arrange the Tater Tots on top in a single layer.
  6. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly; cover loosely with foil if needed.
  7. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain cooked beef well to avoid a greasy filling. Arrange Tater Tots closely for a continuous crust.
