Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

A vibrant and flavorful dish featuring tender beef, bell peppers, and onions, all cooked to perfection in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper, freshly cracked
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (vegetable or sesame)
  • Rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, black pepper, and minced garlic. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. While the beef marinates, slice the bell peppers and onion.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp and the beef is cooked through.
  6. Check the seasoning, adjust with more soy sauce or black pepper, and let it sizzle on high for a minute before serving.
  7. Spoon the sizzling steak and vegetables over cooked rice or noodles and enjoy!
