Parisian Apple Cake

  • 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, and eggs until smooth. Then add the vanilla extract and mix.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  5. Fold in the sliced apples.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
