Maple Brown Sugar Cookies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add maple syrup and egg, and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown but centers are slightly soft.
  7. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
