Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole

A comforting fusion of meatloaf and mac and cheese, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni in boiling salted water until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the milk and 1 ½ cups of shredded cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the meat mixture, followed by the cooked macaroni, then pour ¾ of the cheese sauce. Repeat the layers and top with remaining cheese sauce and additional cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes, removing the foil for the last 10-15 minutes.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the ground meat or pasta based on your dietary needs.
