Homemade Cheese Crackers

Delicious and crunchy homemade cheese crackers that are easy to prepare and perfect for snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, gouda, or your favorite)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture and work it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough comes together.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
  7. Arrange the crackers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Store leftover crackers in an airtight container for up to a week. Reheat in the oven to maintain crunch.
