German Chocolate Dump Cake

A quick and easy German Chocolate Dump Cake featuring a gooey pineapple layer, rich chocolate frosting, and a crunchy pecan-coconut topping.

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 can (12 oz) German chocolate frosting
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the crushed pineapple evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spoon dollops of German chocolate frosting over the pineapple.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the frosting and pineapple layer.
  5. Distribute the chopped pecans and shredded coconut evenly over the cake mix.
  6. Arrange the butter slices evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is bubbly around the edges.
  8. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for gooey centers and a crisp topping. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to 5 days.
