Easy Pierogi Sausage Casserole

A comforting casserole combining rich flavors of pierogi and smoky sausage for a perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • Frozen Pierogi
  • Smoked Sausage
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the chopped onion in oil for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Layer half the frozen pierogi in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Add half the sautéed onions and sliced smoked sausage on top.
  5. Spoon half of the sour cream and sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the layers.
  6. Repeat the layering with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra moisture, add a splash of chicken broth if needed after baking. You can prepare this casserole ahead of time and store it in the fridge before baking.
