Easy and Flavorful Korean BBQ Steak Rice Bowls

A delicious and simple Korean BBQ steak rice bowl recipe featuring marinated steak, fluffy rice, and colorful vegetables.

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ginger, freshly grated
  • 1.5 pounds beef flank steak
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers)
  • ¼ cup green onions, chopped
  • ¼ cup spicy mayo (mayonnaise mixed with Sriracha)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl.
  2. Marinate the steak in a resealable bag or dish for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and grill the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  6. Assemble the bowls with a base of rice, sliced steak, mixed vegetables, green onions, and a drizzle of spicy mayo.

Notes

Feel free to swap flank steak for sirloin, chicken, or tofu. Adjust spice levels to preference.
