Delicious Cruffins with Cinnamon

  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix gently to combine.
  2. Gradually stir in warm milk and melted butter until a soft dough forms. Add vanilla if desired.
  3. Lightly flour your countertop, and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Slice into strips about 1-inch wide and roll them up like a cinnamon pinwheel. Place them in a greased muffin tin.
  7. Allow the rolled cruffins to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the cruffins for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
