Crispy Broccoli Cheese Balls

Delicious bite-sized snacks combining broccoli and cheese in a crispy coating, perfect for family gatherings or a quick treat.

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets (lightly steamed or blanched)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Lightly steam or blanch the broccoli florets until tender, about 3-4 minutes. Drain and chop finely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cheddar and cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add chopped broccoli, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the cheese mixture. Stir until well incorporated.
  4. With wet hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls.

  6. For baking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. For air frying, preheat to 375°F (190°C) and air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  8. For frying, heat oil in a skillet and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  9. Let them cool slightly on a wire rack to retain crispiness.

Notes

These balls can be frozen for later use. Cook from frozen by adding extra time to cooking instructions.
