Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta

A warm bowl of pasta enveloped in a rich and creamy tomato garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Pasta of your choice (e.g., penne, spaghetti)
  • Canned crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • Heavy cream (1 cup)
  • Garlic (4-5 cloves, minced)
  • Olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
  • Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions (8-10 minutes) until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once heated, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  3. Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, stirring well with the garlic. Season with salt and pepper, then let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.
  4. Slowly add the heavy cream to the tomato mixture, stirring continuously until fully incorporated. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together to coat the pasta in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Plate the pasta, garnishing with fresh basil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Serve hot.
