Creamy Mozzarella Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties

A comforting weeknight dish featuring tender chicken and bowtie pasta in a rich cream and cheese sauce, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 lb bowtie pasta
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside. Reserve a 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of the butter, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is silky.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, add the drained bowtie pasta, and toss gently to coat everything in the sauce. Serve hot with extra shredded mozzarella on top for added melt.

Notes

Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of water or cream to revive the sauce.
