Cozy Up with Holiday Sugar Cookies

Deliciously soft sugar cookies perfect for holiday celebrations, ideal for decorating with family and friends.

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional decorations (sprinkles, icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions and roll them into balls.
  7. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Allow cookies to cool for a minute before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store baked cookies in an airtight container for up to one week. You can freeze the dough before baking for longer storage.
