  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges and slightly soft in the center. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week. The dough can be chilled for up to 24 hours before baking.
