A delightful twist on the holiday classic, these cookies combine salty crackers with rich chocolate and festive toppings for a sweet treat.

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • Toppings: crushed nuts, holiday sprinkles, or coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Place a single layer of Saltine crackers on the prepared baking sheet, covering it completely.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar together, stirring until combined for about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture over the crackers, ensuring even coverage.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot mixture and allow them to melt for 5 minutes, then spread evenly.
  7. Add your desired toppings and allow to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
