Chili Cheese Tater Tot Casserole

A warm and cozy casserole combining savory chili, crispy tater tots, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat, stir in chili beans and diced tomatoes, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the meat and chili mixture, then layer frozen tater tots on top.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the tater tots.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until tots are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or mushrooms. You can add toppings like sour cream or guacamole before serving.
