Apple Fritter Bites

Delicious bite-sized apple fritters that are crispy on the outside with a tender spiced apple center, perfect for fall gatherings.

  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Peel and dice apples into small cubes, about 1/4-inch in size.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: Beat the egg and mix in the milk until smooth.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry, stirring gently. Fold in the diced apples.
  5. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Preheat to 370°F (190°C).
  6. Scoop and Air Fry: Drop portions of batter into the air fryer and air fry for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Prepare the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth, then drizzle over fritters.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to a month.
