Amish Sunday Savior Casserole

This comforting casserole features savory ground beef, tender vegetables, and soft egg noodles, creating a satisfying family meal.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef over medium heat in a large skillet.
  3. Drain excess fat if desired after cooking until no pink remains.
  4. Sauté the chopped onion, carrots, and celery in the skillet until tender, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  5. Stir in the frozen peas and cooked egg noodles until everything is combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and level the top.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until heated through and slightly golden on top.
  8. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, drain the beef more thoroughly or increase the vegetables. This casserole can also be assembled ahead of time for convenience.
