Easy and Delicious Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

A comforting casserole of seasoned hamburger patties simmered in gravy, surrounded by vegetables, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • Salt, pepper, and paprika to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the onions until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and ground beef, cooking until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Mix in cream of mushroom soup and beef broth until well combined.
  5. Layer the bottom of a greased baking dish with the beef mixture and top with frozen mixed vegetables.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden.

Notes

For a cheesy twist, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
