Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

A savory casserole featuring seasoned ground beef, mixed vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots and green beans)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef and onions in a large frying pan over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  3. Stir in the mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, and beef broth. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  5. Spoon the mashed potatoes over the mixture and create peaks for browning.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. You can also swap mixed vegetables for any favorites on hand.
