Delightful American Goulash

A comforting classic one-pot meal of tender pasta, savory ground beef, and colorful bell peppers simmered in rich tomato sauce.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add chopped onion and bell pepper to the beef, cooking until tender, around 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in elbow macaroni, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth, mixing well.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
  6. Taste for seasoning and adjust if needed, then ladle into bowls and enjoy while hot.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and taste even better the next day.
